Challenge:

As the domestic airline of Tonga, the Tonga website attracts not just a local audience but also consumers from source markets including Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia, Asia, North America and UK/Europe. Real Tonga Airlines approached Cherryielding to design and develop a new, contemporary world-class website, that would be predicated on effective digital thought leadership and provide browsers with an easy to use navigation and enjoyable online experience.

Approach / Solution:

After undertaking a best of breed/class analysis of strong consumer brands’ websites in similar/unrelated categories, a web spec and new design was put together with a timeline of completion within eight (8) weeks. Image sizes were compressed and a simple word-press platform used to create a new contemporary website predicated on mobile and search marketing considerations as a minimum. A booking widget to allow customers to choose dates of travel, and search for fares was purpose-built, with all run-of-site dynamic data integration with Real Tonga’s core systems/reservations vendors diagnosed and part of the design path for development.

Results:

A new website was delivered in just over 8 weeks from web design and budget sign off, not just with new search flight & booking functionality, but rich dynamic content facility to assist with social sharing and organic search imperatives.
